Description:  The 75-hour Home Care Aide Training is a virtual combined with in-person program approved by the Washington Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS). This program is designed to comprehensively prepare individuals for a career in caregiving, equipping them with both theoretical knowledge and practical skills. Participants will receive training that adheres to state regulations and standards, ensuring they are well-prepared for certification and employment in the healthcare industry. The course structure integrates interactive virtual sessions with hands-on in-person practice, fostering a well-rounded educational experience. Requirement: A computer with audio/video capability is required; mobile devices are not recommended. ​ Additional Notes: The course includes 59 hours of Zoom sessions & 16 hours of In-Person Training. All training materials, including manuals and guides, will be provided electronically prior to the start of the course. Live Q&A sessions are available during the Zoom classes to address any questions or concerns in real-time. Participants are encouraged to engage in discussions and activities to enhance their learning experience. 1. Orientation & Safety - 5 Hours(in ZOOM): This initial segment is crucial for establishing foundational knowledge and safety protocols required before trainees can engage in direct caregiving. It is divided into: - Orientation - 2 Hours (via ZOOM) - Safety Training - 3 Hours (via ZOOM) 2. Population Specific Training - 16 Hours (in ZOOM): Tailored to equip caregivers with specialized skills to care for specific client groups, this training includes: ​ Mental Health Specialty, Level 1: Capable Caregiving for Mental Wellness (8 Hours) Dementia Specialty: Dementia Capable Caregiver, Level 1 (8 Hours) 3. Core Basic Training - 54 Hours (38 Hours in ZOOM & 16 Hours In-Person): The bulk of the training involves comprehensive instruction and practical skills development in caregiving: ​ - Fundamentals of Caregiving & Enhancements (38 Hours via ZOOM) - Hands-on Skills Practice (16 Hours In-Person). Conducted over two days in a skills lab. Certification and Licensing Upon completing these modules, participants will be prepared to pass the Washington State Department of Health Home Care Aide certification knowledge and skills exams. ​ At the end of the course, the DSHS-approved certificate will be emailed to you the same day.​
